About
There are plenty of theatres in Tacoma. Big ones. Fancy ones. Historic ones. But this… This is The Lumora Theatre. We’re the experimental theatre with a big imagination. The one built for the weird ideas. The bold ideas. The “are-you-sure-this-is-going-to-work?” ideas.Because here’s the thing: Most places will give you a dozen reasons why your show can’t happen. Too risky. Too small. Too odd. But at Lumora, we don’t like to say no. In fact, we are the theatre that says "Yes!"So, If you've got a wild, curious, off-the-wall idea—we want to help you pull it off. This is a space made for the daring, the dreamers, the locals with something to say.We know that not every show will be your cup of tea. But if you give us a chance—if you step through the door and lean in a little closer—we think we might just surprise you. Maybe even impress you.So… Welcome to the experiment. We’re so glad you’re here.
Upcoming Shows
Every show at Lumora is a bit of an experiment.
Some will make you laugh.
Some might make you cry.
Some might make you text your friends afterward like, “I… I don’t know how to explain what I just saw.”We like it that way.Come curious.

faq's
Q: Where are you located?
A: We’re tucked right on the 4th floor of Court House Square in Tacoma, WA.Q: Where do I buy tickets?
A: Right here on our website! Head to the Buy Tickets page. But fair warning: our space is intimate (about 100 seats), so shows often sell out fast.Q: Do you have drink minimum's?
A: No way. We're not greedy like that.Q: What kind of shows do you put on?
A: All kinds. Experimental theatre, immersive experiences, cabarets, one-person shows, storytelling nights, puppet mayhem, maybe even the occasional oddball magic act. Not everything will be your cup of tea—but we like to think there’s always something worth sipping.Q: Is your theatre wheelchair accessible?
A: Yes! Our space is ADA accessible. If you have specific needs, feel free to reach out ahead of time—we’re happy to help.Q: Can I rent the theatre for my own show or event?
A: Absolutely. We love saying YES to wild ideas. Check out our Rentals page or drop us a note at and let’s dream something up together.Q: Is there parking nearby?
A: Yes! Street parking is available, plus paid parking lots. Carpooling, the LightRail, and biking highly encouraged (and appreciated by the planet).Q: Do you allow kids?
A: Some shows are family-friendly, some… not so much. We recommend checking the specific event details for age guidance. If a show is all ages, the ticket page will say that. When in doubt, feel free to ask us!Q: Can I bring snacks or drinks?
A: Most shows will have concessions available (and sometimes weird themed cocktails because, well… Lumora). Outside food and drinks aren’t allowed unless otherwise noted by the show producer.Q: How can I volunteer or get involved?
A: So glad you asked! We’d love to have you in the mix. Reach out to us via phone/email.Q: Will I always understand what’s happening at your shows?
A: Honestly? Probably not. But we promise it’ll be interesting. And maybe that’s the point.Q: How long are the shows?
A: Because we host a variety of artists, timing can vary. Check the specific event listing for details (and if it’s one of those “no intermission” situations, we’ll let you know so you can plan your snack and bathroom breaks accordingly).Q: When do doors open?
A: 30 minutes before showtime. We start our shows on time. We encourage arriving early—grab your seat, get a drink, soak in the vibe. Late arrivals might have to wait for a scene break, depending on the show.Q: Are your seats assigned?
A: Nope! We have 2 types of seating. VIP and General Admission. But don’t worry—every seat in our theatre is a good one.Q: Do You Offer Refunds?
A: We do not. All sales are final.
